No, the 84 tank does not match up with the lines on the 82 fender. Also, the seat will not fit the 82 fender. The fender itself will fit onto the frame, but without the 82 seat and tank (or a seat/tank from an 81), it will not line up.

go to maier and see if they are the same for both years if they are the have to be close

It is not the correct piece, but it will fit (different styling, same mount holes)
