148922148923148924148925 ok so I knew from the previous owner my 200e had a shot rear end. I found one from a seller here a year ago. I finally decided to break into it. I pull the bad rear end and realise the 2 are different. sigh. they are quite different. Is the one with the spring for a ytm200 with reverse perhaps?. The couplers do not look interchangable at all. any suggestions? the ring gear looks great on both. the pinion gear is frigged on the original.

well theres always the option to machine it to the old one u have but might be costly uhm your best bet is probably to buy another and try to sell the old one if you dont want to machine it goodluck

I would pull the pinion gear out the lock nut for it in the housing is a left handed thread, so pull them apart and see if you can swap just the pinions out been awhile since I was in there, but the last one I pulled didn't have the spring or coupler on it. it looked like this. 148942

I will try that. I don't have a wrench to get that lock nut out. I feel stupid now because I tried to take it off with a hammer
Small chisel. I gave up, did t want to wreck it. Now that I know I was knocking it the wrong way, I will try again. What kind of tool is right for that dam thing. I would assume it has to be torqued properly? Or just giter done.

I have another option as well. I picked up an 85 200 with reverse. Not running. I was planning on trying to get it running after this one is done. I am wondering if I can switch the whole rear end, axle, dif, and have reverse. I really don't want to tear that one apart and find out it isn't compatible. Anyone have any thoughts or experience in this?

the reverse is not in the rear end, it is actually right up by the pull start under the cover where the middle drive gear is located, you will also prolly need the side cover off of that motor half of the wiring harness, for the reverse light, and need the forward and reverse lever, might just be easier to rebuild the 85 200 and have them both running unless the 85 is in really bad condition.

You could very well have a 225 differential. Not 100% sure if the reverse one would bolt into the other one, but you can try.
