Look What Some D-Bag did to a Piece of History!

A sad day for recreational trail users in this area. This rail bridge has been around since the late 40's to supply construction materials and jet fuel for the Air Base in Cold Lake. After decommissioning in the late 90's it was turned into part of a multi use recreational trail. Now it's up to the owners if they want to fix the part that burned last Friday. No charges have been laid yet.

someone last year burned a bridge on one of our local trails,the national guard just built them new not that long ago....it's no where near as cool as the one in your pictures,sad someone did that bet it took alot of guys a long time to build that.

However, I would guess that anti ATV people would be possible suspects here. Generally, anything they can do to shut down ATV trail use, they will, and then pin it on the Riders.

Anti atv people are the worst bunch of criminals there are (or at least they are up there). They think we are ruining the environment and causing polution blah,blah,blah.But they cause more harm ,crime and polution trying to stop us.And like said above it will get blamed on the atv riders.Its ashame what happened to that bridge .

Just a little history. The North end was burned in 1990 by the natives over land claims. This time who knows, natives, kids, anti-ATVer? The middle and South end are still good. It may get re-built.

So many trails blocked off due to littering, stolen cars (burnt) and a general lack of respect for the area. And now we can add torching a bridge :(

That sucks. We built an all wood school up in northern MB and the locals torched it less than a year after it was built... for them with our tax bucks. Not sayin they did this, but...
