well i noticed the exhaust was being held in with a SCREW and a regular stud.
so the screw eventually fell out and i bought two new studs.
well i hauled my wheeler alllll the way to minneapolis from wisconsin with my new studs
only to find out the left side stud has been broken completely...
so i am gonna get another cylinder head and do a rebuild on my motor...
i feel like i cant ever catch a break....F***
but i guess now i can put in a 12.5:1 piston, cam and port and polish the head

Can you drill and tap the stud? Should not be hardened.
Just trying to save a good jug.

agreed. I have broken numerous bolts off in heads because people don't use freaking ANTI-SEIZE!!! Anyway, you can drill that bolt out and put a new one in, its not that bad.

Broken off inside the head? No problem just drill it out. I guess a picture would help.

think of it like this, the stud was screwed into the head, the left side looking at it and someone
came up and hit it with a hammer to the right and broke the material off where the stud screws in.
i can take a pick but idk how to upload them

you load pictures through your profile. So a huge hunk is gone out of the head?

well if you go with a new head ,please donate the one you have to a member with the means to repair it. We have to keep all the parts we can in circulation

Search yellowpages.com for a local welding and metal fabrication shop. You find a good one i bet they could do it.
