I have an 85 225dx and whenever I shut it off, gas leaks like crazy out of the run off on the Carb . I replaced a faulty needle valve that attaches to the float and still get the same results... I put the float in water and it floats without bubbles when I held it under.. anyone know why gas still leaks from the run off?

ALL 5 of my dx's I have to clean the carb like crazy some even after each ride, I have a fuel filter on them and still clogs up. I don't know if its the tanks or what but try to REALLY clean the carb and go threw all the jets with a wire. Good luck I got SOO pissed at them.

I always turn the gas off after I ride, but some time when I ride them they leak there some times they don't.

Have you tried adjusting the float?

The problem is definitely caused by an unadjusted float, but it seems almost impossible to adjust it just right in order for no gas to leak while still enabling gas to enter the carb

after numerous attempts at adjusting the float, i finally got it right ! no more gas leaking either :D

also check the o-ring that is on the float needle seat I had that issue for over a year and it was a super easy fix once I discovered the o-ring was damaged
