SO my well loved 200e is pissing oil into the pullstart.. I did some research and concluded the crank seal needs to be replaced. If anyone has done this before please give me some hints and advice if you can. Some questions:

1. do I need any special tools besides a flywheel puller to do this?

2. what should I use to replace the seal? Is a regular O-ring or silicone gasket sealer ok?

3. I hear this repair is "easy" but in my experience nothing is ever easy.. should I also do the stator while im there?

thanks!

You should only need a fly wheel puller, I would do both but I think the one side you have to split the bottom end. If you do the one side get the rite seal or get a gasket kit with seals and do the whole motor. Here is the manual http://www.oscarmayer.net/atc/manuals/ Good Luck.

If you do Both then you Might need more thank a fly wheel puller,For the clutch and oil pump but i might be wrong.
