Old neighbor left it behind. He told me who it belonged to and I got a hold of him and he turned it over to me. Cost? The effort it took to push it across the alley to my backyard. KLF185. Good compression. Ran last summer. Didn't quit, just hasn't been ridden since then. Gonna be a beater for the GF's 12 yr old so he quits beatin on my good stuff. lol =)

Nice score. Perfect for what you are going to use it for.

We're gonna clean it up and likely remove alot of stuff from it......before he unintentionally removes it. lol. Maybe cut the fenders for a cleaner look and remove the rack, etc. Put a seat cover on it, do something different with the headlight, and patch up a few other things...And see if it's possible to wear out a set of trail pro's!

I love the old quads. Still trying to find an old Suzuki 185 like I had as a kid.

If it's an '85 the rear hubs will convert your bike to 4/110 Honda bolt pattern

def cant beat free! I would probably have left it as is with the racks and fenders, would be a fun bike to hit some mud or haul junk around with and stay semi mud free and clean on! either way, nice find man!

Doug- That was one of the first things that crossed my mind ...lol.. I don't think I'm even going to check so the temptation to remove parts for my own gain is minimal.

The trailpro's are definitely harsh.... I have a hunch they won't wear out on this..lol. We're gonna take off the rack and trim the plastic to give it more of a sportier look and to lighten it up some. We do mostly sand riding and he's been riding the 300EX alot since he got bored with the ATC 90's I started him on. This one is "his" though so when he gets tired of it he can sell it and save his pennies for something else to fix up. I'll also drag it along on day trips when it's feasible for him to ride it with buddies or the space to do it. We live in town so we have to load up to ride.

oh...and we'll keep the rack around if the next owner wants them or if the kid wants to strap some stuff on it for a day trip. just not sporty lookin and that's what 12 year olds want.

Must be an 85... it's got the coarse spline axle. I had the wheels off to clean the fuel tank and since the hub nuts were only finger tight i figured I might as well just remove them that way. Changed the oil, charged the battery, cut a few more things off it... It has some funky electrical I'm going to try to track down. Someone added a push button for the starter and bypassed the one on the bars and the ignition has been f'ed by a screwdriver at some point. No power anywhere to start it. Gonna start with a new key switch probably and go from there. I hate electrical issues that have been further bubba'd.

Seat went off in a box to Mrs. Mosh today...Will look far better when it gets back. Should have the Tors eliminator kit for the Banshee carb that is going on to replace the plugged up stocker shortly if not today. Still smokes but runs good with a different carb. Few more things to do before Thanksgiving dune trip but should be ready for it.

Finally got this thing running good with the modded Banshee carb and some fluids serviced. Just about ready for it's first dune trip! Lets hope it makes it to the other end of the trip in one piece..lol... 12/13 year olds are really hard on equipment.

This one lasted about half a ride at the dunes before (I think) the CDI fried. So.......We sold it for $200 ( about what was in it) to a friend who is gonna fix it and use it around his house for maintenance stuff and bought a good running 93 Honda 300EX for $900 for him. The Honda came with it's dirt tires and a full set of paddles. Looks pretty decent too... I'll try to grab a pic of it.
