anyone see a issue removing the chain gaurd on my 83 185s that im regearing to get more torque. i like to go mudding and trail riding. if so any suggestions? the new rear sprocket is too large to fit in it.

If you're mudding, you might want to keep it. Maybe drop a tooth on the front instead?

Otherwise no issues. When I bought my 82 185s new 30 years ago, I pulled the cover off because I thought it looked better without it. I rode sand almost exclusively then.

i never saw a chain gaurd on a 200x or 350x ,, as long as you keep the skid plate i dont see a problem... but thats me...

ok ill try it and worst case ill put the gaurd back on and modify it with a trusty dremel tool to fit the new sprocket. just wanted to know what others thought about it.
