View Full Version : atcrider89's ebay auctions

I am going to post this up for our members to review and let you guys decide what’s going on with this guys auctions.

atcrider89 ( enterprise909 on ebay) likes to post his ebay links to his parts here and on .org. He starts a thread with parts for sale, then an hour later they’re on ebay. I’ve been watching his auctions because some of the bidding seems fishy. This is what I’ve found:

There are two bidders who seem to like atcrider89’s items. A LOT.
First there is “l***b”(100% bid history over 30 days), the second one is “p***p”(85% bid history over 30 days)
Both bidders never seem to win much and if they do their feedback numbers never increase, nor does atcrider89 receive any feedback from either bidder. Along with that, items these two have won end up back up for auction.

p***p has placed 42 bids on 16 items and only bids with 2 other sellers show up on the 30 day history:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidderProfile&mode=1&item=261069915913&aid=p***p&eu=oCqq5216UkC7EixYgIcuJXD1CLZrayl%2B&view=NONE&ssPageName=PageBidderProfileViewBids_None_ViewLink

p***p won the Cobra exhaust on July 2:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251097318821?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2F i.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D251097318821%26_rdc%3 D1
It’s been relisted twice since then:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&vxp=mtr&item=261068284414
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&vxp=mtr&item=251117222699

l***b’s 30 day bidding history is 100% with atcrider89. His bid history is actually longer than 30 days since I started watching these auctions. Ebay only allows access to the previous 30 days. In the last 30 days l***b has placed 60 bids on 14 items, and until recently never seems to pull off a win, just barely getting eeked out by a different bidder.
l***b 30 day bid history:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidderProfile&mode=1&item=261068112816&aid=l***b&eu=DbVwqoXSWK%2FLjvMgCB%2BjWIRQVxEgJOoV&view=NONE&ssPageName=PageBidderProfileViewBids_None_ViewLink

Recently l***b won a couple items. This complete rear brake system:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&rt=nc&item=261064085691
That was then relisted 2 days after l***b won it. It was won by a different bidder this time, but l***b was bidding on it again:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&rt=nc&item=261068116493

Also recently, l***b won the Coffman exhaust that atcrider89 had listed a couple of times, once allegedly because of a non paying bidder l***b bid on it when the alleged non payer did:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&rt=nc&item=261063656621

l***b won it on the relist. (A 3WW member was the second highest bidder on this go around, and was sent a second chance offer by atcrider89, but declined. I’ll let him chime in if he wants, as to why he declined:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&rt=nc&item=261068112816

Yet the Coffman exhaust was relisted again, ending last night. This time p***p was bidding:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&rt=nc&item=261068112816
(http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&rt=nc&item=261068112816)

This item was won on the 19th, (p***p was a bidder):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261069915913

But was relisted Friday, p***p was a bidder again, but he won this time:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261069915913

1986 TRX 250R sold on July 19:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-TRX-250R-Quad-New-ESR-310-Kit-FMF-Pipe-New-Carb-BEAUTIFUL-/261067061648?pt=ATVs&hash=item3cc8cf3990
(http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261069915913)
Relisted Friday, with l***b bidding:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261073508731

All of his relists are the same parts, same pics, same description.

So if p***p won the Cobra exhaust and was a non paying bidder, causing atcrider89 to relist, why was p***p allowed to bid on these newer items?

Also, if l***b was the winning bidder on the Coffman exhaust and a non payer, why was he allowed to bid on more recent auctions like the TRX 250R? A much more expensive item?

Like I said, it’s up to you guys to decide. To me the two bidders, along with the relisting of items won by them seems suspect. I just don't want to see members be the victims of shill bidding.

trikeman78

Thats why, when I really want an item for cheap, I never bid till the last second.
What burns me more than that is when someone auctions an item, I win it for a steal, and then they come up with a cleaver way to back out of the deal.
Anyway thats enough proof for me never to bid or buy from that guy. Thanks for the heads up on that guy.

You are correct!! This user has posted his stuff that he is selling in all the forums ( New Member, quad, Trikesylvania, ect ).

Well what business is that of yours anyways?

In this thread.

Which is why he got this next to his avatar yet people still ask him for parts.

"Help the site? I'm only here to sell stuff."

Shill bidding is for EBAY to sort out not the moderators on this forum. Even without trashes amazing sleuth work on ebay I would never buy anything based on his behaviour.

If you read the rules we reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/65055-The-RULES?p=467352#post467352

In addition to all of that, the moderators reserve the right to at any time they determine so, to suspend a users account without notice even though they may not have "technically" broken the rules. Yes, that means we can single you out. However we will not be doing so unless you have proven numerous times your sole or primary reason being here is to cause trouble or incite anger among the other members. We have the capabilities of keeping track of a users past offenses and their track record will determine their punishment. It is unlikely all members will receive the same type of suspension or punishment as each case is treated individually. Punishments range from an account suspension of a few days, to permanently banning your account from use. If your found to be posting under a duplicate account or registering a new account while a current ban is pending, your "new" name will be deleted and suspension time will be added to your old account. If after you've been banned you re-register just to make a post that says "*Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* you!" to the moderators you'll be a lot less likely to come back in good standings then you would be if you had just sent a simple apology PM or email. We are not un-reasonable people, courtesy goes a long way.

I've been waiting for you guys to ban him for a long time.. Seems like he's using the site for his own benefit, and not the benefit of the whole..

The bad thing about him using the site is that now (almost) everyone that buys trike parts on Ebay knows he shill bids and runs scams on his Ebay auctions.

I think they call that "sh!tting where you eat" :D

Howdy

I have read the rules and refer to them on a regular basis. I never said you could not ban him for any reason, never even discussed the topic.

I just suggested that the 3ww moderators "should" not be investigating EBAY shill bidding. You can look at all the data you want but have no access to the back end of EBAY. How do you prove without a doubt that he is without having access to the records, but does it matter as you already state you can ban him.

If you want to ban him have at it, I wont do business with him anyway and this is YOUR site.

I don't know if I would call him a scammer due to the fact that I don't think he has stolen any $$ from anyone. I would however call him greedy and dishonest and 9 times out of 10 those two attributes lead to thievery at some point and time. This just might be a case of cut the head off of the snake before it bites.

The problem with shill bidding is that the seller has someone, or is himself, bidding up the price of an item to get more money than what it may have ended for if the "fake" bidder was not bidding. So he is playing off of the other bidder(s) emotions on how bad they may want that particular item. If "ATCBob" has been looking for, oh, let's say a Coffman exhaust (to use one of atcriders actual items) which don't come up for auction very often, he may get sucked in by the sellers shill bidders into paying more than it actually would have sold for. So technically you could say he is stealing money by scamming ATCBob into thinking a "real" bidder is upping the price when in fact it's the seller scamming "ATCBob" with fake bids to get him to pay more. So yea, it's scamming ;)

If you run an ebay auction for something you don't have, or sold to someone off ebay for more money.. I would call that a scam. If you are shill bidding all of your auctions as a general rule.. I would also call that a scam.

The nigerians sending random e-mails to people hoping someone is stupid enough to bite.. The nigerian may not make any money (hopefully), but it's still a scam.

I guess i should have clarified and don't think for a second I'm taking up for the guy. I'm talking about the 3ww side of things. I can point out several of the big ATC parts sellers on ebay that shill bid. Is it right, hell no, but until ebay starts cracking down on these guys it will continue. Ebay breeds evil business practices in the name of the almighty dollar and could care less. What I meant as far as scammer, from what I know he has never taken someones $$ on here and stiffed them.

I've wanted to call his as$ out for a long time about how he pimps his parts on here and does't contribute a damn thing, but I didn't feel like getting into a pissing contest over something that should be handled by a mod.

Also recently, l***b won the Coffman exhaust that atcrider89 had listed a couple of times, once allegedly because of a non paying bidder l***b bid on it when the alleged non payer did:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&rt=nc&item=261063656621

l***b won it on the relist. (A 3WW member was the second highest bidder on this go around, and was sent a second chance offer by atcrider89, but declined. I’ll let him chime in if he wants, as to why he declined:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&rt=nc&item=261068112816

Yet the Coffman exhaust was relisted again, ending last night. This time p***p was bidding:
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&rt=nc&item=261068112816
(http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&rt=nc&item=261068112816)

I was the 3ww member scootertrash mentioned above. I was the 3rd highest bidder the first time, only outbid by 2 ebayers with 0 feedback 1 of which was l***b. If you cancel the bids of the 0 feedbackers I would have won at $51 not $100 and not my max bid of $70.01.

I was the second highest bidder for round 2 losing only to l***b. If you cancel l***b bids, I would have won at $21. I was sent a second chance offer this time around at my max bid of $70.01. I passed in part because the only reason it went past my max bid is because the seller bid on it himself.

I was the third highest bidder for round 3 being beaten by what seems to be a legit buyer and p***p - high bid $70 p***p bid $69. It seems to me that this was set up by the seller for me to win at the $70.01 I had bid the previous 2 times, good for him that someone else stepped in to go that high because I was not going to.

You may ask why bid on an item after it has been relisted by a shady seller - in part it was to keep a better eye on what was going on. Scootertrash had emailed me after round 1 if I remember right and gave me a heads up on the research he had done at that point and I wanted to see what would happen. I did attempt to report all this to ebay, but they don't make it very easy to report shill bidding - at least not that I found. As another member mentioned, perhaps no one here has been ripped off, but had I accepted the second chance offer at $70.01 instead of the $21 I should have won it at, that's about $50 extra out of my pocket. I know, I know, if ifs and butts were candy and nuts......at a minimum it seems like attempted rip off.

He has to know about it since there are posts in his other parts thread in the classifieds about this one.

I also reported it to ebay, but as 200x350xtriz250 posted, it's a pain in the a** to do it. They want you to inform them during the auction, but the pattern doesn't/didn't show up until after several auctions for this guy. Hopefully since a couple of us reported it they'll look at his past auctions bid history

If anyone bought stuff from him via ebay and can prove he shill bidded the price up then they could file charges / sue this punk. Might be a lot of work for just a little money, but it would also give him a legal History of doing this and it would help any future people he tries to screw over.

At any rate he is no longer a active member of this site. I am hoping ebay goes back and charges him with all the FVF and listing fees. Plus boot him from ebay for good.
