I use k&n filters on my trike easy to clean but I think they require more oil as there more open compared to other filters like uni

Most of the time i like to run the stock one. I had a twin air in my old raptor, it worked good.

my stock is shot. think im going with uni, been unable to find a k&n for the air box that came on my 185s. but i do have couple extra boxs that came with the wheeler. i think one may be off 84 200m, becouse thats what i believe the top end of the motor came off of. anyone know if there is a k&n availlable for a 200m?

thanks. ill have to check out that air box tomorrow an make sure its the right year. the k&n is nearly double the price of the uni i been checking out, witch is a 2 stage foam. is the k&n that much better? i should mention i do have a dg pipe and high compresion piston on my wheeler

Lets just put it this way you buy a uni filter at (lets say 20 bucks just guessing) so you use that for about a couple of months and it starts to fall apart then you have to buy another one. Well by the time you buy 2 uni filters you could of bought a k&n I think there much better then foam filters. But they do suck alot more air so more oil is required to stay on the safe of your engine sucking dirt just my. 2 cents

how do the k&n hold up to washing, is their a special solvent they sale or do you use water?

so the extra air box i have is not from a 84 200m like i thought,it doesnt have a lid on it. it looks alot like the 82 185s box, it uses the frame as a snorkle but it has a extra vent that sucks air from below the seat. anyone know what this air box came out of?

I wash my filter with warm water and dawn soap and then I let it sit in the sun for a couple of hours.can you post picks of the air box?

sorry cant post pics phones not working. i cleaned the dirt off that cleaner and it looks like someone added a pipe on a 81 185s box to use the snorkle on a newer wheelr. thanks for helping me get my first 10 post, now i just got to wait 2 months till i get to view the classifieds

Everyone has their own opinion when it come to this stuff. I run a heavily oiled UNI with an outerwear, which is overkill. If you want to run a K&N just make sure you run an outerwear and keep it properly oiled. Either filter is fine to run.
