1983 200x tires help

So i need new tires and i really want to put smaller tires on. I was told that 83-84 250r tires would fit on stock 200x rims? is this true and can you guys send me some links of some decent 250r tires thanks. (Im a bit confused on what would work just need a bit of help) Thanks.

I would look through your service manuals for both of the bikes to see if the diameter and width of both rims are. If they match I am sure it will be fine, if not I wouldn't try it.
