82 big red chain fitting

i have a 82 big red that the chain slips on on the back sprocket despite tighting it many times. i looked at the chain and it does not fit on the sprocket very well at all. i know chains can stretch some but can they strech so much the wont fit very well. keep in mind the people i got the big red from rode it very hard

yes, chains can stretch a lot, and that is probably the case here. I'm also willing to bet the rear sprocket ( and possibly front as well ) are wore badly and need replaced. I can say this because if a chain slips on the sprocket the teeth have to be shot.

thanks for the quick reply i was going to buy a chain but now i will buy a sprocket too
