What tire pressure are you running on your Trike or Quad? and why?

i find that the recommended pressure of 2.5psi? is just too soft and I run closer to 8 rear and 10 front lbs of pressure in my atc250sx and around 5 lbs all around in my trx200sx

Sometimes it seems like I should be running less pressure, but It just feels like the 250sx should have a bit more pressure than recommended in front to make turns...

maybe this is just because I am too used to riding the harley. Would i be better off to just stick with the stock 2.5psi?

This isn't a flame thread, so keep negative comments to yourself.

Please tell us what pressure you run and why.

Thanks

I run between 3&5 in the rear and 8 in front on my sx. I run the front hard to keep it from rubbing on my shocks

My rears on the X are about 6-8, front is super low, I forget where. Fat cat is 5 on front and back. Those original dunlops are so stiff. I think I'd rather have trail pros on it...

Seems like different tires like different pressures.

On the 85+ big reds that we work pretty hard, 10psi is safe.
The sx with trailpros almost needs no air at all.

For us, it's what's most stable as we rarely get out of 2nd gear
and always hauling stoopid stuff like logs and trailers.

I've heard and maybe seen tires that have been inflated to a 'normal'
30 psi from previous owners and it seems like that can separate
and distort tires.

I'm usually happy if they simply hold air at all.
