I'm relativly new to the 200X, and I'm looking for where I can purchase a NEW 11" diameter polished aluminum front rim? Didn't see anything on Rockymountainatv.com and trusty eBay is just used. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Your best bet would be to find a good used condition wheel for the front. Or get into another Xowner group wheel buy for the 10" front rim. I have one on my 200x, go check out my thread. I think the 10inch'r looks better :)

Ok thanks. I do have nice stock rims as is, but the 10" looks nice too. What is this "Xowner group"?

Xowner is a member here on the forums. Every once in a while he takes orders for 10" rims and those rims will fit the 200x. I would send him a private message and see if he has another order coming up or maybe he still has some left over from a previous buy.

What year do you have?

Oh I see, that explains it. I will take a look into it. Mine is a 1985. Long story short, I was hoping to ice race it. I bought a 6" extended (1984 JP or Fastline axle the guy claimed) so I was planning on running smaller wheels anyway. A 10" front would probably look little more balanced. Good to know thanks

cool, I needed to know the year so I can tell you how to set it up. Since its an 85, you will need the 86 hub. The 85 axle and spacers work on that hub, so the hub is all you need to run the 10" wheel. You will also have to shave the inside of the caliper, not much, maybe 1/8 of an inch or so. In my thread I show how to do it.

I see. Well I did some reading on the threads and clearly I got a few things to think about/learning first. My only concern is (correct me if I'm wrong) if I put the stock 11" rim back on, I assume use '85 hub but if I'm trimming caliper would I have to make a spacer plate to take up difference?

No, you trim the outside of the caliper housing, very easy. I trimmed mine with a file. Take a look at my thread below, post number 34.

When you want to use your 11" inch rim just use the 85 hub, which you already have.

I see now, was thinking too hard. Thats easy enough just has to clear the rim. My front end is all rebuilt so therefore the rim subject came up. Learn something new everday
