iv recently aquired 7 about to be 8 honda atc's... two are keepers the rest are going to be put together and sold or parted out. my wife currently rides an 84 200es bigred that runs great but is in rough condition and the whole front-end is shot, im meeting with a guy today that has an 86 250es bigred rolling chassis in mint condition minus motor/tranny that i worked him down to $200 for... my question is if i will be able to pull my 84 200es motor and drop it into the 86 250es or are there differances that will not allow the motor to fit? any help or info is greatly appreciated!

Wish I knew but surely someone does.

I know the 85+ machines are different in almost every way
especially the u joints in the rear driveshaft.
85+ has rear suspension, for one point.

Any chance of getting the engine that came out of the 250?

No, the 84 BR is a totally different animal. The shaft drive on the 84 comes out the center of the motor whereas the 85-87 motors have the output shaft coming out the left side. Two completely different machines.
