Alright guys so Im about to buy a 1985 Honda ATC200s and Im not big on the automatic transmission(I would much rather have control over my gears.) and I was wondering if there is a transmission from another model of the same line(200x?) that I could pull a manual or semi automatic gearbox off of that would bolt on with little(hopefully no) modification.

hey grubby unless you are getting an excellent deal you should just get a 200x. they are plentiful, cheap, reliable, and just stupid fun. but if you are going the other route a 200x motor should swap right in without doing extensive work ttrying to put a cluch on an auto.

A 200s is not an automatic...it's what you call a semi-auto, meaning there's no hand clutch like a sport trike, but you still have to shift the gears manually. The clutch is there, it's just actuated by the shift lever, instead of your hand. You still have complete control of your gears, and if you're good, you can even learn to feather the clutches on it as well.
