basketcase 84 250r

Well after looking and searching for months, i found a 84 250r that was disasembled motorwise, and needs gone over to check everything out. My question is, anyone have a swingarm bolt for this? And, anyone know what kind of pipe it is? Pipe is beat up, and needs work, but looks aftermarket. Plastic tank, extended rear axle, aftermarket silencer, great plastic. The motor issue is the rod bearing on the crank went out, so previous owner disassembled, andnever fixed. So its my turn. Whats everyones opinion?

Looks good! I think there was a member here, BigBore that may have made them out of stainless, maybe. I remember seeing this in the post about the 480R. I just got an 82 250R, that had a bad jug, so I'm leaning toward doing the 480 swap. From looking at yours, it looks like my 82 may have newer plastics more like yours, since mine has the black back fender extensions too.

Looks like a fun project! Although i got to say i hate putting together something someone else tore down, can really be a pain sometimes.

Looks like a great start! One of the first things I'd do is ditch those tractor tires.
