Honda put them there for a reason. The people that say "You don't need to use those carrier o-rings" must run in mostly dry areas. You can clearly see the water/sludge/mud in the 2nd pic, zoomed in.

Anyhow, I don't want to start a small battle, but Honda put them there for a reason. Crap in there won't make it easy to rotate.

Think of the guys that use a hammer and punch or a 4" pipe wrench to rotate the carrier for chain adjustment.

You tell me whats up??
