So for those of you who dont know, I'm a Recovery Agent, A.K.A. (repoman). This guy hid this car from us for close to 2 years but we got it this morning, FINALLY. What I dont understand is WHY do people do this? They weren't even using the car and had to deal with us on a fairly regular basis at his home, family members homes and his job. And the whole time it was stuck behind a rundown duplex in a not so desireable areas of Miami. I just don't understand why? LOL. Anyway, just a little bit of what I do for a living.

They can go out and buy rims but cant afford the car payment. Makes as much sense as selling your car for gas money........

I deal with this type of mentality on a daily basis. but hey, its job security!

They can go out and buy rims but cant afford the car payment.Exactly. They get the car, and immediately dump their first couple months of payments into the wheels/tires, billet gas door, & lame looking, fake, front fender vents. Then they can't understand why they don't have money for the actual car payments.

I am willing to bet they had a brand new (or close to it) vehicle out front.

Actually no other vehicle out front, just a well worn foot path to a side window. Hmmm..........................wonder what that was for?

They don't hack the converters out down there for scrap...can't believe it's still a roller. To lazy to part it out and strip it over 2 yrs, hard to believe. GOT MY Obama PHONE!

I did asset recovery for 4 years. I cannot tell you how many times this is the case. Nice car, blinged out, not even a first payment ever made. Have you inventoried the contents yet? I bet it is full of trash, roach clips and designer clothing. SCUM of the EARTH!!

Tri-Z, I have started to see that on a few I've gotten recently.

Thestud25, actually this one was cleaned out. But trust me when I tell you, I know exactly what you are talking about and only people who have done this work can truly relate.

JasonB, it's actually all races and walks of life although you see it more with certain ones, but I can tell a LOT about a person as soon as I open up their car.

I kind of have to laugh a little bit too, because they let it go to crap like that. They think that now you have repoed it that it isn't their problem... Well, I say nay nay dear dirtbag... When the bank auctions that car and gets nowhere near the total you owe on it, they STILL come after you for the difference!! LOL! Have fun dodging phone calls and eventually having to go to court over it... Such fun

I bet the owner of the car still owes Rent & Roll for those rims.

Not meaning to pry, but I always wondered if you guys get paid per unit or a percentage of what the outstanding loan is? Must be an interesting job. Do the reality shows even come close?

Most places pay the Agents commission per car recovered, and the actual agency gets around $300.00 per repo on average for a standard repo. Sometimes more sometimes less depending on the situation. But GPS has really revolutionized the industry....................lol. And the shows are all BS, they make us look like idiots and the violence factor has increased since these shows have started up. We were approached about a show last year but declined because they didnt want to do a REAL account of how things go down.

Battery was dead from sitting so didn't get mileage and no major damage either.
