Drivers seat is all torn up, interior is relatively nice otherwise. Needs new carpet in the rear as well... Some fixes here and there, little tweaking, little shining, she'll look like new... Clean title...

Quick little bugger... Not even mine, but I love it... Who else has one?

I love these older Toyotas, the newer ones are just too cookie cutter. These ones have that zing to them, nostalgia, the fresh pleather smell....

Sofar we're up to around $2000 to get the car back to 100%. Had the boys at work put it up on the lift today...

I had almost the same car years ago, black. Mine was an 85 Celica GTS. Not the I-6 Supra but looked identical, it had a 22RE and 5spd, which was great because at the time I was into off road Toyota 4X4s and had three of them with 22Rs. The car was rock solid and tight at 200,000 mi. No sqeaks or rattles while slinging it through corners, cruise control operated better than most new cars, everything worked great in it. I had bought it my friend who had let all the rear diff fluid leak out through a worn pinion seal and screwed up the R+P (and I had told him it was leaking). I think I gave him $300 for the car and $75 for a junkyard diff and drove the wheels off that thing for a couple years. Original clutch was finally starting to go when I got rid of it :beer

i had a 83 celica gt. fairly zippy little car, and it cornered like it was on rails.

Yeah this thing is going to need new struts and some new tires before it will corner well. It's pretty sloppy, but it whips around in a J-turn like no other :naughty:

Eventually it will need a new clutch, we're going to put something high performance into it.

A friend of mine has a red 85 Celica GTS sitting at his place with under 80KM on it. Bought it new, drives it only in the summer. I drove it a lot back in the 80's (he often drank more than me). Fun car. He always wanted to get a Supra wing on it.

oh yeah, he's hard on toyota's, notice?

this one got stolen and then dumped in a slough 100 yards from our house. The towing company decided it would be best to wrap the recovery strap around the roof which caused it to roll.

wrapped this one around a telephone pole.

My wife and I had an 84 Supra with the I-6. Great car. Drove it for 226,000 miles, it went to Supra heaven about 6 mos ago. :(

I could never justify buying an imported supercar with an automagic, it absolutely has to be a stick. Hell the 850hp monster the PO has in his garage is a 6 speed manual!

@falloutboy, ouch. So much abuse. Don't ever let him around any of my Toyotas. I should put up some pics of the mid 70's Celica that work just put in their showroom. Years of bugging by the big hoss and the owner of the Celica finally caved and let him put it in his showroom.

Wanted a 3rd gen Supra bad....never got one. Ended up with a 88 Conquest TSi which was similar in style to the 2nd gen supra's.

SO COOL!

Honestly, I love the StarQuests more than the Supras. A TSI with a stick is just one ultimately sexy combination with that futuristic body style and interior, a T-Top model just adds to it.

Yeah they really were a great looking car. Kind of a pile of a motor though. I think there are some better fuel injection conversion kits + megasquirt (or whatever the hot setup is now). I don't think it's too hard to get 350 RWHP out of them if you can throw enough money at it.

What is funny is that I sold that car in 1996 in order to get the thunderbird in my signature. Can't believe I still have the t-bird after all these years.

Weren't those things supposedly Mitsubishi's?

Yup, hence the name StarQuest, it was originally the Mitsubishi Starrion, and was also branded the Chrysler Conquest, but it's the same car.

A 4g63 swap adds some serious punch to the Starion/conquest

my dream car is close, it's a 1983-1987 Toyota Sprinter Trueno, it's the JDM Version of the North American Corolla DX, SR5 and GT-S Hatchback/Coupe with Flip up headlights.

Oh, the flip up headlights are the best part. My friends go nuts when they see that.

I am close to being able to use the power locks again. Then I just need to get the plates that the lock/window switches mount to. THe mounting tabs have long been broken off, so they're just floating around.

If i thought Detriot made the best cars in the world i`d be the first in line to buy one ! It`s not the workers fault , it`s manufacture`s GREED ! I wish obummer let the big 3 fold , teach them a lesson !

I like japanese motorcycles and such but when it comes to automobiles I like good old American Fords, Chevys, and Dodges. I feel proud supporting this country's automotive industry and I don't feel at all like it is sub-par.

edit: im sorry i like imports too, but that statement just bummed me out, I think it would be a huge failure and heartbreak if the US lost any of the "big 3"

Older ones, yes, nothing like a classic American car. However, nowadays a lot of it is Canadian and Mexican made, with one company being completely Italian now! Not a lot of income going onto actual American soil, unfortunately.
