i have a few posts on other forums, but not receiving much feedback. i have an '85 tecate 3, that the previous owner installed a thumb throttle on(stock was twist).

the cable was too long, so i assumed the cable had stretched and sent the carb/cable/thumber to motion pro to build a custom cable. motion pro said the cable was fine, the problem was the thumber didnt have a long enough throw to fully open the 38mm cylindar slide. they recommended the larger moose thumber. not wanting to spend 125.00 on a thumber, i am looking for other options.

anyone know of a bike that uses a larger carb/thumb throttle??

thanks in advance!

I will have to check for this problem on my 86 tecate. It has a thumb throttle from a KLT160 and a mikuni TM 38 carb

My 500 has a Banshee thumb throttle and a 41mm Mikuni, but I can't find any numbers on the cable so I can't help you there.

My 86 T3 has a kx500 carb and intake. Any ideas on a thumb throttle ? I heard a yfz 450 works but not sure what year.
