I'm rebuilding an atc 70, my problem is my motor is a 1974 and everything else is 85 model. Is it ok to use this model motor bc for some reason the chain from the '85' rear axle is a little short to the motor. Please help

I dont see why it wouldn't fit. The chain adjuster will take the slack out of the chain.

I am no honda expert an take pride in that but as far as I know all the 70 engines will interchange , buy a longer chain

buy a longer chain That's what i was thinking , then it will still have room to adjust when it stretches..

The difference is that the early motors/trans are three speed and carb is different

Change the front sprocket if it is a larger tooth. That could be the difference in chain fit.
