Well, after a VERY slow start to deer season due to warmer than unsual temps, I was able to get a very respectable 4-pointer today. His rack isn't huge, but he has a nice big body. Very happy as I mainly hunt deer for the meat, my whole family loves it.

I double checked the site rules and I don't believe I am violating the "blood and guts" rule as the pic seems to have no blood in it. But if the mods prefer to delete this, please accept my apology and I will refrain from such posts in the future.

I only hunt during rifle season down here in PA. Gotta wait till the monday after turkey day. Getting me anxious with your pic:w00t:. Gotta have at least 3 pts on one side for adult hunters here.

There are a couple WMU's (wildlife management units) here in NY with similar requirements. As I understand it, it is a pilot program of sorts.

No, it's a S&W 629 Classic, 44 mag. I do want an X Frame though! Still on the fence between the 460XVR and 500....Both have their strong points over the other... decisions decisions...

Nice work! was the boy with you. Did you use the rifle or pistol. (Forgive the lack of punctuation, my frickin cat walked across the keyboard and turned my question mark into french something or other;-(). Now I have to figure out how to change the keyboard back.

LOL!

No, my boy wasn't with me this time around. He didn't want to go out that night.

Initial shot was with the 270, but it was quartering toward me a bit more than I realized. Entry point was in the ribcage vital area, but exit was gut. When I came up on him he was almost done, but I finished it with the pistol in the back of the neck to end it quicker.

Keyboard is fixed, yeah! This is what I wanted ???????, not this ииииии. Can I borrow your pistol for the cat?

It still blows me away that you can shoot a pistol so freely, I love it AND I'm jealous.

Good eatin there. I was out bowhunting this morning......rut is in full swing. Passed on a small 8 point at 7 yards. It was not easy to let him go as I am like you...a meat hunter also. Had it been a doe.....I would be hangin' her up as we speak. Nice deer! Good pics with the boy to...brings back memories.
