Can I use a 200es starter on a 250es if I switch the rear end cap (Honda)?

Can I use a 200es starter on a 250es if I switch the rear end cap? I need a starter for my new 250 Big Red and I've got a buddy who said he'd mail me his 200es starter for shipping cost. I have the rear cap (mount) to the starter that was with my 250es, but the rest of it just isn't in any of the parts boxes that came with my 250es. Anyone tried this?
