This is my first post. please dont ban me for stupidity. I am trying to determine what a new oem Honda ATC 85/86 tank in passion red is worth, and are they easy to find?

Well the make and model of the bike that the tank goes on is essential in determining the price.

I'm sure there's probably one out there somewhere, but be prepared to pay. It will not be cheap. I wouldn't say "readily available" by any means.

They are no longer produced and their numbers dwindle more every day. With that being said, they are priceless in a sense. It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

I should have mentioned in passion red. I see you can get black oem new tanks from Carlos at BDT Motorsports, but havent seen any new red oem tanks on ebay for as long as I remember. I am aware of the clarke and other reproductions, just have local guy who said he has a new oem 86 tankone and was curious what it should be worth.

A few years ago new black tanks were around 270$ to purchase.
Red tanks have been long gone. I would say at least it is worth the 250-300 mark to a collector or 100% restoration guy, but with MR Clean restoring all the OEM tanks, and the ease to find them cheap and be able to polish them, most guys would buy a used one for 30 bucks and have it polished and probably end up with that OEM look for 100 bucks or so.

So to most guys, I would say they won't pay top price..A collector may pay a lot.

Speaking of Mr. Clean... Hey! I will be sending a tank to you this winter. Pretty white looking. You can see it in my resto-mod thread in Trikesylvania

I haven't inquired but Service Honda still lists a passion red tank as available on their site. They are usually pretty good at marking their stuff discontinued.

If you want to get a ball park idea of value put it on ebay with a high reserve and see where it goes. I would also love to see pics, all the ones I ever see are super junky!!

The Honda parts look up will say it's available in passion red but it will show up in black, I had my dealer double check before they ordered mine and then he gave me a great deal so they didn't have to ship it back. I got mine in 08 or 09, whenever I did the black R.

Update. That tank my friend had access to was black when he got it. He was fooled by the oem lookup as well. Should have known.
