I believe I have this correct but I want to make sure.
When shifting with an automatic clutch don't you let off the throttle shift and then give it throttle? Another question how to you down shift the proper way?

Sounds about right but I'm always surprized by the real info.
It's pretty intuitive but I try to shift without power on or heavy backpressure.

Can you download the owners manual?
They may be listed with the:

service manual

under world class help section.

I just read the manual for my xl100 and it says to
kick it 2-3 times with the switch OFF before trying to start it.

Have fun and let us know if you can't find the free owners manuals.

ya, anytime you shift, up or down, let off the throttle then shift and back on the throttle.

Actually, you're best off to blip the throttle up when down shifting. It saves the clutch when done correctly.

I got used to no clutch on my TR200, so I just shift on that as it feels right. It was a huge learning curve when you grab the lever to shift in a typical clutch location and it locks up the rear tire haha
