Hi guys

so I had a flat on the original left rear tire on my YT-175....pretty sure it's a 1983....anyway the tires on there are Dunlops....22x11.00x8

So I went down to San Jose Yamaha....bought a Duro same size.....went up to our cabin this weekend and put it back together....as I was looking at the NEW tire it appeared to be WAY smaller....I was pist....sure enough once we had it rolling down the trails the damn after market tires from Duro are no where NEAR the size if the original Dunlop balloon tires....so now I have to buy another rear Duro tire so it rolls down the trail and does not pull to the left

....so basically I'm going to have the original front tire still on and two Duros now.....lame.....anyone have this problem trying to replace a tire and see that the size means nothing

Put your new tire on the front .

That's not an uncommon issue at all. Tires of the same size from two different manufacturers can be way off in size, and that's when they're new. If you've got 25+ year old balloons, then chances are good that they've stretched over the years and are bigger than when they left the factory.

Dingdingding we have a winner. Always buy rear tires in sets of two bro!!

The old ones have probably been over inflated a few times the past 25 years as fabio said. Over inflate the old ballons and they will not return to their original size.

My friend put 70 lbs in his razrs seating the bead and now they are razr balloons. Makes me laugh.

Yea I guess I should have just bought two of the rears......got it....and I doubt I'm gonna over inflate...it says to keep them at like 5lbs......the older Dunlops said 2 lbs....what's a good pressure to keep them at

I'm gonna roll with the two new ones in the rear and maybe see about changing the front one as well....not sure yet....it may be easier to do wheelies now hahaha...since the front one is bigger
