Yamaha 225dx swing arm help

I bought a 1985 225dx a couple of weeks ago and the guy I bought it from said it need the swing arm baring replace, he had bought the bearings just hadn't had time to replace them. So I got 2 questions 1. How do you know the swing arm bearings are bad? 2. What size is the nut on the swing arm my best guess is somewhere between 1 1/8 to 1/4. Thanks

the nut is a 1 5/32", and you will also need a metric allen wrench 6mm I believe. Be careful with the drive shaft boot as it can tear easily and they are hard to find to replace them.
