View Full Version : ytm 200 valve removal

so i have an entire top end gasket kit comming along with my rings....i said well if im going this far i might as well replace the valve seals too. how do you guys go about it. i dont think my valve compressor will fit the small opening. im away workin right now so i cant check. mine looks like the one pictured.

I have home made tools ( special bars ) to remove the keepers. Been using them for 20-25 years. I know of a few people that just use screw drivers. Hopefully others will chime in.

If your head has duel springs that compressor in the pic won't work , I have a bunch of different styles for different situations , Sears sells a large C shaped spring compressor that works pretty good and has different attachments .

yeah im thinking im going to need the c clamp one...i do believe its dual springs...problem with my tool is i Don't think it will fit inside the head to grab the spring. its only a small opening...hope the pic works

That one looks very universal , for the tight fit I have a home made extension piece of pipe with a window cut out that lets me do just about every style head with the C style remover .
