This may be obvious but the wires coming from the on off switch, what do they connect to?

If you followed it threw the harness one wire would go to ground and the other to the hot wire on the coil .

They go into the headlight bucket and intersect with the headlight wiring and the main harness.

Listen to shortline he's by far one of the most knowledgable when it comes to these machines. Helped me get through my rebuild and never steered me wrong....didn't mean to walk on top of ya shortline, when out to the shed to double check mine for him and had a reply already opened up and didn't know you posted

Ok there are two wires coming from the headlight and my guess was they connected but I was completely sure.
