Worth it to me. Where else are you going to get a NEW 250r? And he has 2! If only I didn't have a house payment.

Actually he has more. I think he's letting go of 3.

The ad says 3 of them at $11,500 EACH! Owch... I could see for all 3 at that price but not each. Then again, I guess they are only as valuable as what someone is willing to pay for them but I think it that price, he will have them for another 25 years. Just my .02 cents. I would love to have them though. :D

from what i can tell from the first pic, one of them is a 86, according to the specs page on the old site, "Approx. retail new" was $2348 Back in the Day, this guy is asking $11500, that's $9152 More over just 27 Years(that's around $338.96 Per Year). if they all are 86 250R, that would be $7044 New back in the Day compared to $34500 that this guy is Asking for all 3, that's a difference of $27456 ($1016.89 Per Year), then again, What was taxes and Reg Fees Like back in 86, and what would normal inflation rates be over 27 years?

I think some of you need to do some research and see what a these things really go for. I have seen quite a few 250Rs sell for more.

The inflation would put them costing about $5000 in today's money when they were new.

Yeah if they are what he says they are then the price isn't that unreasonable, not sure why everyone is acting like he's way overpriced.

I wonder if they were to be cut up and it never happened. really not a bad price if there real ,you see restored ones on ebay going for more money than that . There only new 1 time original anything is always going to bring more money.

Does anyone here know this person? What is the story behind them? How many does he have if he has more but selling three? This is awesome!

I think its awesome that these have poped up. Bill get on the ball brother lol. I would love to burn a memory card on pictures of every square inch of one of these. I think the price is actually kinda of low myself. Seeing what it takes these days to restore one to 100% oem, then factor in that these are one step removed from being in the crate. Its a great price as far as I'm concerned.

Knowing what their current counterparts go for brand new (450r's and such) I don't think that price is that bad considering the historical value factor.

I did notice the front rim in the first pic looking kinda silver myself. But maybe just wierd lighting when the pic was taken??

I thought this might get some attention here. I grew up one town over and have heard rumors like this... guess they are true sometimes?

IMHO - That is a steal if they are real!

I think the price is great...... My downfall is that I'd ride the hell out of one if I bought it. That's so cool!

I agree, these are a good price. Maybe everyone should get together and put some money into the pot :) If I didn't already have the Tecate, I'd make a deal with the owner on one of them.

I've heard the same rumors, I was born and raised in New Haven, but the local guys around my area would talk about these trikes in the mid 90's.

Price is fair for these. I bet 24-27K cash would load all 3 up.

However..I love history..250R's..all that jazz. Honestly, you couldn't really ride these things..Well you could..

I would just spend the 11K on one or 2 newer hybrid trikes I could slam the pee out of, and not worry about parts. I will let the collectors store those in a museum for my interest later.

I've had dreams of these machines for the past 2 nights straight... oh man oh man, HOW TEMPTING!!!!!!!

But like everyone says, to fill with gas and ride one would be a waste - and a 10k museum piece sitting in my living room is hard to justify ;)

What a shame nothing updated on this thread...... I wonder how it turned out? Did a new thread get started on these?

I'd be willing to bet he kept them for a few more years if he got a bunch of typical BS from Craigslist finest

Yeah I would love to see what happened with this deal.

The price was high, but I think it was a fair deal if the story was legit. Amazing really. If they were 250ES's, I think I would have been taking a trip up northeast lol.
