Hey guys i came acrossed and add that had a 1984 honda 200s listed for 300 bucks so i didnt expect much but then i seen this pic lol 160468 i know looks beat to crap so i thought id try to get a bargin and offer way less! that didnt happen the bike happens to be selling at a cycle shop near my town i guess the owner of the shop had put some work into the engine he pretty much replaced the carb and got it running again and the guy didnt want to pay so he gave up the bike that is now for sale! Long story short i went to look at the bike today the thing fires right up and runs without any smoking that i noticed the foor brake is good shifts smooth too! MY question is would it be to spendy to get it looking decent beacuse id need to replace the rear fenders as you can see? and last question is it worth 300?

If it runs as good as you say it does, I would pick it up. New (or used) rear fenders, seat, and grab bar and you have a decent trike. The pullstart looks intact so that's a big plus. And it's got the front suspension, makes a big difference in ride quality.

Save it. You will be glad you did. 185s/200s's are great trikes.

Shop around and hang out here a bunch. Chances are somebody here has what you are looking for, and usually a hell of a lot cheaper than Fleabay's largely inflated trike parts pricing.

I think it's worth $300. Seats and fenders are easy to come by on EBay. The important things are that its engine starts readily, transmissions shifts, brakes function, steering/suspension check out OK and tires hold air.

Honestly if your going to put a seat cover on it and ride it as-is then yes, or if your going to part it out then yes but if you want to fix it up/restore it youd be wasting your time. Hopefully that doesnt offend anyone too much but in past few months done alot of research and now that I have my 85 250r I realize just about any important parts are discontinued..and to get the newly made parts sold by performance shops and other places is very expensive and you can quickly sink enough money to go buy a brand new bike in one of these trikes...so buy beware for sure is all im saying.

I would try to offer less. $250 would be a good price...

I am with fordtech. It isnt worth it in my area. A seat cover is $40 rear fenders are $100 by the time you get them shipped. It looks like the fork seal is leaking too. If you have to pay more than $150 for it, I would pass on it. I have sold nice ones with no problems for $400.

Around here i could buy that for $300 toss a $30 seat cover on it and used rear plastics for say $60 as i know someone with a spare set, and i could turn around and sell it for $5-600 if the motor is in that good of shape. If they run around here they bring $2-300 despite cosmetics.

I would buy it, slap on some cheap plastics, repair a few minor things including the seat, and ride er.

Reading the comments here shows how wildly varying the value is of these. I saw a 250ES BR go for $1800 just last week, it wasn't that mint but they barely go below $1k in my area. I had a guy trying to buy my 200ES off me, my daily workhorse and it ain't going nowhere, i have about $700 into it now with parts and purchase and this guy was offering $1200 for it, of course i turned it down i can't sell it!

Thank you guys all for the replies... I bought the bike! i had to in this area theres not to many for sale in general and the nicer models they want an arm and a leg for, dont get me wrong im sure once in a great moon a great deal comes along one; im sure. But i didnt want to wait i wanted something that ran and my friends could use to ride along not looking to restore any one of my trikes although i do respect people who do restore them! I will be putting some updates up on the thread soon thank you!

I got a great deal on my first trike its a 84 225dx in good shape got it for 350 out of the 500 he was asking. I guess its pay back for the good deal i got the first time!
