I have a 1986 honda 200s. I brought it to a mud hole and it ran awesome. Outdid alot of 4 wheelers. Toward the end it started getting weaker and I shut it off. When i got home the plug was fouled. I cleaned it up and rebuilt the carb but cant get it to run. For some reason its blowing air out the intake?? Both valves are opening and closing and if I manually feed fuel to the cylinder it fires up for a sec. Does anyone have any pointers? not much fun with only one trike. Hate taking turns. Ha! Thanks

I agree. Check your float, make sure it isn't stuck closed.(This just happened to me Saturday) When you pull on it to try to start it, pull the plug to see if it's wet. If it's wet, you're getting fuel where it needs to be, if not, well then you have a fuel issue. Also check and make sure your plug is firing.

Thanks for your answers. Yes it is firing and has good compression. I have rebuilt the carb and checked the float. Put all new jets in the carb and float pin. I have been working on these three wheelers since i was a kid and never had this problem. Probably overlooking something small and was hoping someone would point it out. I mean u just cant kill these things usually. They have been thru hell and back and came back purring. Ha! Thanks again for the answers and if you have any more ideas please let me know.

If you squirt fuel in it fires for a second or two and its backfiring or just blowing out the intake? Sounds like a timing issue, and/or a bad spark advancer.

I was kinda thinking a timing issue but it was running when i shut it off and now wont run. I might replace the spark advancer n try that. Thank you for your input!

Oh and no backfire just blowing out the intake.

Is your gas line pinched? Or the petcock plugged? I redid my carb once to have it not fire.. i was so confused as to why it didn't work. I unplugged the gas line and turned on the fuel. Barely anything came out. Took the petcock off and cleaned it up.. fired right up after that. Just a thought. Good luck

Ive gone as far as making a makeshift tank to feed it fuel out of a 20 ounce bottle. The bowl keeps filling up but gas and air is blowing out the intake side. Im guessing it has to be 180 out. Only explanation i guess.
