Yep. That's the plan. I thought it was a good deal too. I just couldn't find any accurate retail prices on these things.

Yea that looks like a good deal, I'm always looking for another tri z to buy in the pacific nw. Not very many show up for sale, usuall the bone stock 85s gold rims heavy stock pipe and trail pros for a grand.

If it starts and shifts thru all 5 gears I'd get that if I were you.

Bought it for 1000. Took it home and looked in the coolant resvoir and radiator. ALL FROZEN! The person had water in it in Colorado. It was 10 degrees on the ride home and -2 yesterday. :( We think it is frozen in the engine too. Plus we started it and rode it around so the water pump must not be happy either. Water as a coolant in Colorado

Its also leaking a little bit of water. I guess some unfroze when we rode it. So it might be cracked.

Yes. It is very nice. I think we got lucky with the water. The past 3 hours I have had a heat lamp on the radiator, hoses and cylinder. I have melted it all and am yet to see any leaks. Tomorrow I am going to run it under pressure to check before i put in the anti-freeze. I am crossing my fingers :) .

Nice looking rig, and a good price too. Buy yourself a lottery ticket if everythings OK, luck is on your side.

YES. I think what happened was he didn't have much water it and it had the room to expand maybe. If that is even possible. The coolant overflow was full and frozen aswell. :wondering. If not I still know i can part it out and get my money back :) . Nahh haha. I like it to much.

you better pull the cover off the water pump and see if you spun the plastic impeller on the shaft!

Crap! I thought that the water pump impeller might of been metal... Great! But yes I am very happy about this thing. Ive had it for less then 24 hours and I love it! Wish me more luck. Im going to pull the water pump off now.

Just finished pulling the water pump cover after i drained all of the water. I cycled the engine with the kick start and the impeller spun. :) boy am I lucky. Then I drove it around a little. :) I am loving it more and more.

I looked into it. A cotter pin. Should of did that when I had the water pump cover off. Oh well. Ill get it pinned next time Im draining the radiator.

use a brand new drill bit... and go slow... if you go fast .. the bit will walk off the shaft and melt the plastic..and will be fubar.... you will need to cut the cotter key down to size... and start right in the front edge of a blade... and will only need to go through one.

Yep. I saw your thread! Yours is nicer than mine. I think im even on my luck for finding this(good) but the problems it came with(bad). It needs new maier rear fenders, the right radiator shroud and the water... That was a headache  . Im hoping soon it will look great. Good luck on getting that one out there. My 200x and 200s are in houston :) . The 200s was my first ride :D

Nice score on the Z! :beer

And wish I saw that pic of the cotter pin trick when I had my water pump apart for the oil seal. Gotta love common sense fixes!
