250es choke

ordered a new choke cable and choke parts. does the o-ring go the shaft groove or under thre choke shaft needle,any help will appreciate.....thx

The 85 ES/SX brass choke had a straight barrel, no oring but in 86 Honda added an oring to the brass barrel. The oring goes on the choke barrel in the groove.

Be sure to put a little vaseline on the oring.

I just ordered a new choke cable for my 85 SX. I broke the black plastic piece that threads into the carb. After seeing the pic you posted from eBay... It looks like I might need that too. The cable itself is fine.

i didnt know if i had to take the carb off the bike to do it

No. Unscrew the black plastic guide from the left side of the carb. Remove the plastic boot, choke barrel, and spring off the carb end of the cable.

Oh, 14mm wrench to remove the plastic boot.

i have 84 yamaha 225dx, that is missing i think just the cable, what would i have to do just to replace the choke cable, and where can i get one? thanks for the help
