I was wondering if anyone can help trouble shoot? I think rear diff is out when I put 3 wheeler in gear, rear end will spin free with the occasional clunking noise. I was pulling a small trailer while duck hunting when this happened any help trouble shooting very appreciated!!! Trike is a 225DX

sounds like the pinion gear exploded ? drain the oil and see if you get metal chunks or silver coloring ?

So I can fix this by replacing the rear diff correct or will I need a shaft as well

If you find the differential is bad I have one. It's listed on ebay and ends Saturday.

yes it's 99% most likely the gears broken off a few teeth. if it's bad it might be hard to find, i'd rip it apart asap and if you need one buy howdy's if the price is right and he guarantees it to be noise free. if it's cheap enough then still consider buying it without warranty if necessary.

The one I have is quiet. It's also priced at $39.99 starting bid ( I have seen these sell for over $100 ). Shipping will be $12 in the US. And it ends in 10-11 hrs.

I understand that. I normally sell these for at least $65. This one didn't get a bid, so back on the shelf to be sold at regular price ( $65 ).
