Foreman or Rubicon,,both are great.,,Rincons you have to be careful with. If they need a long warm up,walk away.

Rincons,650's mainly, some 680's. The hydro tranny gets shot . Some of them literally need warmed up 20 minutes before you can ride them in the cold. Honda did an update with new orings on the 650's. But if they have been treated right ,they're fine. If you have to let them warm up,,,bad news...

I wouldn't say that, just certain models. My friend has a Foreman 500ES. I have ridden it many times. It has been flogged in the sand, snow and mud, and it is used to pull a trailer around some steep property hauling firewood. I thought the electric shift was gimmicky at first glance. Then I rode it. I was really impressed with how firm and smooth it shifted. If I were to buy a utility quad I wouldn't hessitate to get a Foreman. They really dropped the ball on the Rincon- torque converters are for cars.

seems like the automatics would all be the same.... so the foreman auto's are good but stay away from the rubicon s and rancher's ?

If you want brash,Xtreme,in your face performance, Buy Can Am. If you want buttery smooth,,ride ALL day perfection, Buy Honda. Rincons are awesome,,but if it needs to be warmed up before it will move, walk away. the 400 AT 's are just a very disappointing machine, Not that they are not reliable, they just suck lol. 420 Ranchers are especially nice : ))

I have owned,bought/sold/own well over 400+ Hondas. I am not knocking them. I am stating facts. Rincons are a very nice machine, and if they have been cared for, very reliable.I simply respectfully ask you to Go ride a low hour Outlander 800,,,or 1000,,,then tell me they're the BEST.. Because they aren't..

I personaly would stay away from a hondamatic myself. Speaking from experience parts can get very expensive when they go bad. I had a 06 500es Foreman I bought new I had it for 5 years and rode the holy living hell out of it. It was sunk in deep water regularly, always mudded. It came back for more time and time again. I never had 1 part break on it the entire time I owned it only normal wear like bearings/seals. The guy down the road bought it and is still riding it on his farm and on weekends in the bottoms. Only problem I have heard with the Foreman 500 is some had a problem of busting 1st gear out. I had a lift and 28" vampires on it the last few months I owned it. It was an impressive bike.
