85 250 es big red gas cap

my 85 big red has plastic gas tank,dont know what brand. i need a gas cap,will a cap from a metal orig. work? the current cap has all the rubber parts detereating and leaks bad when i ride. thx for your help guys..

if its a clark tank, I know the metal tank caps wont work....

thanks, might have to buy a new plastic tank and cap. hope to find a good deal

you can find one on ebay...I think they run around $200. might be able to call clarke and tell them you just need a cap. good luck
