use a test light or a multi-meter and start tracing the wires.

Follow the wires back. Are they all connected? Do the colors match? If everything is right take a test light and touch the wires when it's running.
Good spots to start, Good luck! I had the same issue with my 3 wheeler.. took me ages then I finally got power up there.

Edit: Oh just because the bulbs look good doesn't mean they are. I went 3 day's trying to figure out why my taillight didn't work.. ends up the bulb that looked brand new was junk. So if you have extra laying around I'd suggest using them. Unless you just bought them new of course.

I have the same issue with my 86 350x lol.

Good questions to ask/answer

Does the tail light work?
If none of the lights work, then maybe it is more than just the bulb, check the voltage regulater output.
If the voltage regulater checks out good, then a switch/wire issue

This is all assuming the bulbs are good, and you have the headlight switched on :).

Check all the connections and test the lighting coil....
Could be wires crossed somewhere also..
