My Fat Cat Project

I finally finished my winter project. I chanced upon this 87 Fat Cat five miles from my house. I remember them but had never actually seen one in person before then. Here are some before and after photos. It looked terrible when I got it, but actually I put less than $300 in it, when I only paid $300 to buy it. It was a lot more work than money. It starts first kick and runs like a dream. :lock:

WOW!!!! is all I got to say. Amazing transformation you did there.

What did you do with that rack? I am looking for something to put on my Yamaha big wheel. That one looks like it would be a good starting point if you want to get rid of it.

I will have to check in my dads shop next time I am out there to look at the rack. We had to cut it off, so I will have to see it the frame of the rack is any good from where we cut it. If it is still out there you are welcome to it, I do not need it.

Thanks for all the compliments and thanks as well for all the assistance and information this forum provided on this project. I dont think I could have completed all this without the help. I have restored a number of motorcycles over the years, and really enjoy it. I am already thinking of my next one and am on the lookout for an 80s Quadracer, Tecate or maybe 200x to do next. The key is to not get one in too bad of shape that ends up being a money pit. I nearly walked away from this one because it looked so BAD. Im glad I didnt because the longer I looked at it I noticed it was 100% complete and needed more work than parts. The lesson learned I guess is to look at the core of the machine and try not to get too turned off my the cosmetics, because its easy to do.
