Hey guys I have an 82 185s and am quite over the pullstart. Does anyone know if I'm able or what year of a bigred electric start motor would mount up to my 185s frame?

The 82-83 BigRed are the only 2 years they used chain drive and had electric start ( Big Reds ). The 200m are simular motors as well. Don't know if any would fit into the frame though.

They are in fact direct swaps, IF you either notch or hammer out the front downtube to accomodate the starter, then it"s a matter of finding a place to put the battery and running the new wire harness...may be easier and cheaper to just find a BR or 200m....

If you know how to weld and cut you can modify the downtube and frame to fit even the kickstart versions of the 200x, a little unnecessary but it would be something unique lol

What is different between the kicks tart and the pull start fitment wise

CRF 230 is an option.

Chinese engines are an option, too. I bought a whole 200cc Loncin dirt bike for $180 but I had been watching Craigslist for a deal for 6 months.

you can always bump start your 185s and not use the pull start... just stop on a hill... haha
