Between the Buried and Me. They have been around for about 10 years now, they started out pretty young. Definately one of the best prog/metal/hardcore bands of all time. Being a drummer I can't hardly get enough of this kind of music, non musicians usually don't care for it. I'm heading up to Portland in a couple weeks to see BTBAM open for Coheed and Cambria (I'm not gonna lie, I'm a Coheed fan also), its gonna kick ass.

A two songs off their new album- "The Parallax II: Future Sequence"

Very cool, though the beginning has me thinking there is a little Rush Spirit of the Radio influence.
It was going good until they started that guttural screaming thing.

I've been listening to Kamelot and Amaranthe lately. The new song is pretty good....not too much on the screaming.

They released an album of "covers" in 2006 called "The Anatomy Of". It included many of their influences from Mettalica, Queen, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Pantera, Faith no More, Depeche Mode etc. I wish they would have done a Rush song, like YYZ.

Amaranthe reminded me of the band Unexpect. They are an absolute favorite of mine. Theyre like a hardcore carnival ochestra............
This stuff is "out there"....... not normal....... at all. I love it.

Obviously very talented musicians, but the vocals are not for me. Thanks for posting EZ!

My latest obsession is Five Finger Death Punch. I've listened to everything they have and it's all fantastic. I saw them live at the end of last summer in Boston at the House of Blues. Absolutely great show and great band.

Here are a couple of samples for you all to rock out to-

Everything they make is top notch. Check em out!

between the buried and me are pretty kick ass. They were in Louisville not long and as always I didn't get to go. 5 finger death punch is pretty good but they have no distinct sound. Me and a friend were just talking about them. Every time they come on the radio we never think its them because they sound like everyone else. Still good though. Been cranking a lot of as I lay dying lately.

I'm not going to tell anyone what they should and shouldn't like, everybody has their own preference.

I feel like the radio ruins a lot of music for people. I don't have that problem though, because I very rarely listen to the radio. I usually listen to my iPod almost all of the time. I've talked to people before that have said something similar to what you wrote Eric. If the radio's mostly playing their newer stuff, be sure to check out some of their older stuff. If you haven't heard it, you're missing out.

As a matter of fact, if you PM me your address, I'll burn you all 3 of their CD's that I have and mail them to you for free! :D

i agree 110% radio destroys bands for me, i will hear a song on the radio and automatically HATE the band without even listening to another song they made. Coheed is not bad, I have a station for them on pandora. I would suggest making a station for Sparta, scary kids scaring kids, and reggie and the full effect. all those pull good music onto their type on pandora.

I was cleaning my shop last night and found a cd case that belonged to an old friend I didnt know i had; I found a 'between the burried and me' cd i havent listened to in it. There was also some 'harvest' and delinger in there among other scary music lol

I haved listened to a lot of Sparta in the past. Along with "At the Drive In" and of course "The Mars Volta". The Mars Volta is one of my favorite bands, I saw them open up for System of a Down years ago.

Concerts are great, especially metal. I love going to shows, being a drummer and all. Most of my friends are musicians also, so they tend to come with as well.

My wife just likes the mosh pits, biggest one was Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth (have that one on video) The hardest one was August Burns Red! She loves it

thats awesome! I had tickets to go see at the drive in back around 2000 and they broke up before our stop on their tour lol. I did see system of a down and Hed PE back before both bands started making awful music. Yes, they both had a different sound and better overall music before they were being played on the radio daily. I wish all my old cds werent totally scratched to death, I would love to listen to 'church of realities' by hed pe or my original copy of 'incubus; science'. God incudus is terrible now too lol. I did here some new deftones on the radio the other day that actually sounded good enough to enjoy though
