He had to be one of the coolest pets I've owned. He was just a little more than 6 years old, had the best temper, never bit me once. He probably ran to China 4 times on his wheel. I noticed him hanging his head out of his house with a blank stare so I coerced him to come out. I decided to hold him a while to try to figure out what was bothering him. It was a good thing, because at least he died in my hands. I will greatly miss the little guy!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really appreciate it. He hadn't been on his wheel for about 3 weeks and had been having trouble walking. I thought he was developing wobbly hedgehog syndrome, but that's normally when they are younger and I believe is genetic. He will really be missed.

I have a huge problem with death of harmless/innocent pets.

My neighbor had her pig die because we feel it was poisoned.

So sorry to hear of your loss Rob :(

A loss of a treasured pet can be very tough indeed. Some people value and get along better with their pets than their own family members. Sorry for your loss.

RIP to your little guy

We had a hedgehog from 2005 to only 2008, he died just after my first daughter was born. He was full of tumors, you could feel them when you picked him up.

This was him shortly after we got him:

My little sister had a hedgehog when she was a kid growing up. Hers was kind of ill-tempered but it was comical just the same.

2 and a half years ago, my Mom had to have her horse put down. Old Juli was a year older than me.. (33 at that time). She had been part of our family since 1991, was very gentle and well mannered. Not a mean bone in her body, a beautiful white arabian mare.

She began to lose her eyesight, and then most of her hearing. We had been feeding her special granulated senior horse feed for about 3 years as she could no longer chew hay or even grass. VERY sad day in our family that day in late June of 2010. She is now buried in Mom and Dads yard right near their flagpole. I miss old Juli.
