i was wondering, missed out on a deal for paddle tires of rims, my big red spins over the tires like a champ, so i wanted to know would they go right on?

i didnt think they would, the 250r has the same rear end as a 350x, btw, nice big red in your pic, she looks mint, im gonna rebuild my dads 86 soon, shes still good shape, just needs a little tlc, carb and air filter, are still untouched since factory, besides draining the carb once a year

82 250R wheels will fit... If you can find a set of aluminum wheels for 82 250R or 185/200 snatch em up

i dont think any of the 250r 350x or 200x wheels will work because of the back spacing. i had trouble fitting aftermarket 10" wheels on my 250sx (same thing in the rear and same wheels) that had 50/50 backspacing. all i had to do was bend the brake actuator a bit but i think the 8" wheels with 50/50 backspacing will hit all kinds of stuff. stock back spacing on my wheels were roughly 60/40. on out ward facing side, from rim edge to mounting flange about 5 1/4 inch and inside was 4 inch from rim to mounting flange. so 50/50 moves rim and tire closer to brake drum

I was told that only the 200x and 250r wheels were compatible

mine were super wide itp aluminum wheels if your 10" wheels came from stock atv they had the 50/50 back spacing but were not as wide. ive got a set of wheels you want to try but neither of my 250sx are here and i wont see them till spring (at summer home) so i cant try it for ya. i put a stock wheel up next to the 250 r wheel like you want to try. only difference is back spacing. on the backside of the wheel (facing brakes) stock wheel is 4" from flange to rim edge and the 250r wheel is 4 1/2". i think the best way for you to tell is take off the stock wheel and put it on backwards (back side facing out) and see if anything hits on the brakes.

after further inspection the stock wheel is is different on back side from 250 r wheel. the stock wheeel is 7 1/2" across wheel, from edge of rim all the way to the flange. the 250 r wheel is 7 1/2" for the first 1" and then it tapers to 6" the rest of the way to the flange. the back side of the 250 r rim is pretty much same as the front side (outside facing) of the stock rim. so if it fits with the stock wheel turned around backwards, you are good to go. if not i suggest a decent set of used aftermarket wheels if you dont want new ones.
