I was browsing around on craigslist today and came across this 90. after seeing the john deer paint scheme, i drove about an hour into the middle of nowhere and decieded to save it from certain death. It's been sitting for a couple of years and needs the tank cleaned and carb gone through. I traded an old set of harley pipes i had sitting around for it. only thing missing is the seat from what i can tell. motor has compression and tranny cycles through the gears. This will be my next project after the 200x gets fixed up. after i get it running right, time for a new paint job. The guy also had a 79' honda 70cc trail bike and a 250sx. I had to leave before i left with those too. 162907162908

nice bike. poor thing being painted that color. who does that. when it comes to a honda doesnt "ride red" mean anything anymore.

been all over every inch of more than one of those. any questions i'd be happy to help

I have a 78 or 79 ATC90 that I might be parting out. If you end up needing something, shoot me a pm. The seat on mine has a seem rip or two and is OEM.

Even though it don't match honda red, it don't look half bad as a john deer color scheme if it was done cleaner. With the owner pulling tires and all the missing parts, I hope you got it for pretty cheap. Kind of shady to make a deal then want parts back.. the price should have dropped as well :). Almost as bad as people selling big mud bog trucks, then at the end of the listing, tires not included..

I will definately have some questions later when i start tearing it down. As far as the price goes, i think i made out pretty good. got rid of some old exhaust i had and got a new trike. A good JD paint scheme would be kinda cool but not my first choice.

Update: Just recently, I started working on the 90. After aquiring parts for some time, I was ready to start stripping it down. It took a while to find an ok seat. I used paint stripper to get rid of that awful green and yellow. Most of it's gone now. The rear fenders need to be done, but that will be for another day. Right now, i just got the engine put back togather. I went with a 53.5mm piston. The cylinder scoring was pretty bad. The old piston ring was broken in 4 different pieces. I will be putting a 110 carb/intake on it after i get it all cleaned up. Other than that, it's been an enjoyable project for the most part other than the paint issue. 181077181078181079
