I am currently looking at buying an 85 Honda 200x the bike looks good but the motor is locked up. He is asking $250 is that a fair price? I would also like to know if these bikes are any good do they run good and how much do they go for when they are all fixed up?

well if your buying it to keep thats fine but if your trying to flip it, it will be hard to make any money. seen decent running for 600-800. so after you spend prolly at worse 500 rebuilding motor you wouldnt make money, but if you want to keep it, you have nice bike with brand new motor that is ready for many years of fun. just make sure absolutely everything is there. parts are still available to rebuild everything but if its missing the parts are expensive. if its all there i dont think you could get hurt either way because you can part it out and make your money back.
i just bought 200x for 250-300 (came with a running 90 i wanted for parts for 400). the motor is toast but im not mad. can get money back if i decide not to do anything with it.
check out my thread on common 200x problems so you know what to look for, mainly cracked frame. if you find things wrong when you go to look at it, you can use it to bargain the price down some more.

I have bought two locked up trikes in my life. 1984 200x, I paid 75.00 for and a 1982 250r that I paid 100.00. I would never go more than 100 on a locked bike. Its a paperweight at this point.
