Hi everyone, I am looking to buy a Honda 250R and found this ( http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-ATVs-snowmobiles-ATVs-1984-Honda-ATC-250R-Racing-Trike-W0QQAdIdZ457509525). I am wondering what you think it is worth and should I buy it considering the clutch has no tension and it has no spark(possibly CDI).

i dont know what the market is like for these in canada but down here thats 800-1000 $ bike if its running. it prolly needs cdi box like he says but could also be coil or pulse generator unless he has checked those. sounds like it also needs clutch rebuild unless cable is broke but im sure he would notice that. i would pay 600 or 700 and no more. and do a compression test at that price to be sure motor is good as well as rock it while shifting to make sure it goes through all gears.

Hello
These things are always hard to speculate on if they don't run. It may pop out of gear [expensive] it may have noisy [bad] rod or crank bearings etc. Y ou also need to ask how far it is bored, if it is 60 you will need a new cylinder next time. If he doesn't know then it is suspicious. It must have a title. If the front only is raised 2" inches it will be very difficult to turn. Does he have the orig forks? Did he raise the back and if so how?
