i got a deal lined up for a dr 225 but shes got no spark, i found her for 800 this summer, but she was reving out with just touching the throttle, it was okay in gear, somebody i know bought it, he put a new coil on it, and she ran good for a bit, now no spark, he wants 300 for it, but i think i can get it for 200, good tank, and plastics, just unsure if i should or not

sounds like it's worth it if it's nice...especially in canada...

go for it man, probably nothing major, a parts bike is worth more than that

yeah, you really gotta take care of something here in newfoundland for it to be nice, a lot of bikes are not very nice over here, but you can always find the odd mint big red for retarded amount of money, i think i will buy it, and run some tests and give my friend a call who had scrapped bikes for years and see what he says

i had the oil burning problem with my big red when i bought it, smoked like a chimney, im not keeping the 225 bc i needs the money to do up my jeep, i have way to many things to fix, but i know this wont take much, and im hoping since shes in really good shape, and got 1 inch wheel spacers, i can get some decent money for it

I would check the stator, and alternator coils, plus if you trim a 1/8th inch off the end of the spark plug wire, it will help. Last but not least check the ground connections and the kill switches as well. But for that price I would definitely get it myself

i did buy it, buddy said thheres no power going to the coil, i am starting to think the pickup pulser coil is toast, like i said i seen her for sale before in the same town, at someone elses house, and she reved out with just a small push on the throttle, soo sounds like that coil is toast on the inside, i found one on ebay, its not expensive, but im going to run some tests anyway
