Okay guys, so i have a 1983 Yamaha 200ek 3 wheeler. Its got front and rear racks, no cracks in the plastic, sounds really good, very well maintained, other than the tires being slightly bald, its in real good shape. I asked a guy on craigslist if he wanted to trade for about a 1984 honda 200x, he said he is considering the trade would this be a good idea? Heres a pic of the 200x

Let me know what you think thanks!

ya, they more than likely go the same speed, like 55 or so, and i like the look of the 200x a little better, but you just cant kill the 200e, ive had absolutely no problems at all yet

Headlight is wrong on the x but as long as everything works on it (brakes, suspension) its probably a fair trade. I hate selling or parting with any bike though hence the collection i have, so i would try for cash offer, if u have cash. Otherwise think long and hard about if you'll miss the bike

Have you been wanting a 200x badly? That is the main question. You also have to consider what kind of running shape the 200x is in compared to your Yamaha (which looks nice by the way). Is there anything major wrong with the 200x? If so, are you willing to do those repairs? Has it been abused, etc? If it feels good, do the trade. If you think you might miss your Yamaha, then maybe think about it another day or two.

thanks worden18 my yamaha looks even better now than it did in the pic and runs better too. He says the x runs good, nothing wrong with it, he doesnt seem like he even rides it, i will miss the yam dog no doubt its been nothing but a joy and never fails to run, and will run all day long. Im not sure yet...

It sounds like a tough decision no doubt. I always wanted a 200x myself (since way back in 1983); but a few months ago I found an '84 Yamaha 200EL (barnfind). Paid $50 for it, got it running and it doesn't smoke and ran really good. Since then I have taken it back apart to give the fuel system a better cleaning, and to clean up the 10 years of mouse sh*t caked to the frame and motor. Sure is a nice machine. Have I guilted you into keeping the Yamaha yet? LOL Just kidding hope you feel good with your decision...let us know what happens.

Hello there! I agree i would keep the yamaha they are very reliable ive seen alot of you tube videos were we have the die hard honda fans bashing on them lol! But just like you my yammy 225dx has been nothing but great to me and i have done nothing to it! I've put it to the test many times and its past hill climbs, trail/creek rides and it keeps up with all the other bikes! I bought mine for 350 bucks a great deal; ive also considered trading it just like you because ive always wanted something that would do decent in the sand! But ive held back and waited until i could get the cash together instead and now i will be picking up a 200x myself very soon! I will post some pics of it here on this thread once i do! So much for my babbling bottom line is keep the yamaha it will keep making you a pround owner... you will regret it believe me!

Ah ha! It does show up here!! Haha. Looked like a nice little 200x! I owned one for a little while before I traded it to get my 350x. The one thing is between your yammer hammer and the 200x. Parts are easier to find for the 200x. Just some good for thoughts.
