Quit brown-nosing to get out of your next ticket. Just like in any profession, there is some good and some bad. I personally have been harrassed and pulled over for the most rediculous infractions one could dream up. I was once pulled over for too bright of a licence plate light. The officer and I walked behind both of our vehicles, I asked him which licence plate light was brighter his or mine..................... he wouldn't answer, but was happy to write me up......... service my ass.

Sorry, I dont get the point of this thread. Does it make you cool saying that? Police have a job to do. If you are just minding your own business, whats the harm? With my job I get stopped a few times a month. I dont cry about it. As the saying goes, if you cant handle it, stay on the porch.

Hey hey hey, guys come on now, i didnt say i didnt like cops, i said i didnt like the fact that the cop in my town gets paid 30 grand a year for a day or 2 a week to patrol a small town, they only pick on the people that like to have a little fun and go riding once in a while and get stopped for dumb reasons, like my brake light being out on my wheeler... If we didnt have cops the world would be a terrible place. And if you guys dont like my post or what i have to say, just dont comment, thanks bkm and easymoney1979 you guys understand my point right?

03-08-2013, 11:37 PM
it is, you guys are missing my point completely, im not saying in any way shape or form that i hate cops or what they do to protect people. I did say that i dont like when they have to be pricks to people that are just trying to have fun, when they have nothing exciting going on they patrol for people that ride atcs atvs and dirtbikes, and they tend to try to give you tickets for nothing

ColtonGG33

i know what you mean, my brother got halo headlights for his bmw and the cop pulled him over, and said you need to get rid of those headlights, no reason why? then up the road theres a cop (really nice guy) and he said yes thee illegal but most cops wouldnt pull you over for it, because he/she would have to go thru hundreds of pages to see what that fine would even be for

83 200e

as many have said there are some good cops but quite a few are crooked and enjoy being d!@k$. lets be honest here they signed up to carry a gun and a badge in the wild west. the problem we are discussing here is some have god complexes and are jerks on purpose.

look at these guys you see on tv and internet that would rather stop and cuss out a driver for speeding to hospital instead of giving an escort when the passenger is dying.

how about the crooked ones that recently got caught here in chicago for running a drug ring. literally taking the drugs they confiscate and selling it.

i had to go to traffic school once and the lady proudly let us know that though its illegal the local and county police departments give officers quotas to hit giving tickets. not monthly but quarterly she went on to tell us. you can tell when its going on too and you can tell the cops that spent all month in the doughnut shop and have to rush the last few days.

i once got pulled over for going into turn lane too early and crossed yellow line before turn lane.

also got pulled over once drunk and underage doing 65 in a 35. cop did not have jurisdiction there but could have called county in. was right down street from house, he checked my liscense and paperwork and sent me home. stupid me yelled to him " your the coolest f#(%in' cop i ever met man"

it all depends on who you get and the day they have had

and as comedian gabriel iglesias says if you can make the officer laugh you have a chance

thanks to you officer who are kind and courteous, for what you do. to the rest of you god complex jerks i hope you change your ways and i dont hope the best for you, just remember karma's a mother f'er

oh and a little advice to anyone on here about getting in an accident while intoxicated. it worked for a friend. was drunk driving and stopped at a light when another car hit him. they immediately took off and he couldnt get their plate. his car was immobilized by accident. he took off on foot and left the car. in illinois at least, leaving the scene of an accident is far cheaper and better looking on your record than a DUI. as long as they dont find you with the vehicle and any amount of time has passed they cannot prove you were under the influence when it happened. any lawyer can get you off of it and if you can make it to morning without them finding you, you wont need a lawyer. you will still be charged with things and have to post bail for charges but its about a 1/4 of the 15,000 it costs to get your liscense back these days. and most jobs do background checks these days and DUI is a red flag where leaving scene of accident is not

sorry for your family member dcreel. i know its cliche but wasnt drunk, could have passed the sobriety tests but either way was underage. ive been drunk to the point where i know i should not have driven, like the good old holding one hand over one eye to make the doubles go away. i lost a friend to drunk driving as well and it changed me quite a bit. i dont do that any more. but there is still a far cry from a beer an hour (legal), to hammering away and getting behind wheel. weve seen these people on tv who cant walk and fall over during the tests, i agree they need off the road.

but at the same time lets be honest about what they are doing to the common people with what it takes to get liscense back. its ridiculous what you have to go through and the money it costs. and the people that make these laws are the ones that do not have to abide by them. all they have to say is their position or who they know and they drive away scott free.

police extend favors to all kinds of people. my friends dad is a lawyer and my friends mom got pulled over one day and didnt have her liscense on her. cop followed her to house and came in and said "theres a cop outside, i got pulled over". his dad goes out and talks to the cop (we went out too) cop says oh well if she said her husband was a lawyer i would not have bothered her

face it our system is flawed these days, keeps the poor, poor and the rich rich.

I think this is extremely ridiculous...so I'll extend my advice. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE, there is no excuse, NONE. It may seem harmless, until you kill someone, or yourself. Don't be stupid, and stop giving bullshit advice like this!

Way to go, you took all my fun away. I've been a Police Officer for over 7 years now and would have usually said my peace regarding our fellow members here, but I instead decided to have a little fun and talk like a moron just to see how the other side lives and thinks.

Threads like this used to piss me off, but I'm to the point of no longer caring. I know I'm a good officer and I don't have to prove it to every swinging d!ck on the internet like I thought I had too at one time in the not so distant past. I do my job, treat others with more respect than they show me, and try to go home safe at the end of the day to the ones I love.

hah i was wondering when you guys would chime in here.

and bkm i knew something was up with you i just wasn't sure what angle you were working. your posts were a little much and the "i do what i want" was funny as well.

as i said in my first post, if you really are good officers as you claim to be thank you for your service.

but seriously can't you guys tell and do something when you know when of the guys you are working with is a deuche. isnt there some sort of delousing procedure (super troopers movie) to try and stop the evil ones.

either way please, please if you ever find yourself in the situation that a speeding vehicle stops and there is a injured or dying person being transported to the hospital, dont scold the guy for 5 minutes, dont call an ambulance, do the decent thing and turn your lights on and give them an escort. go ahead and ticket the driver when you get there if you have to but dont do some of the things we see on tv

and to honda kawasaki, seriously dude. where you never a dumb young man yourself that just turned 21, really cant relate at all. as i said in my post i do not advocate drunk driving i lost a friend to it but for those who are young and doing those kind of things, it helps to be informed of the law and what to do in that situation. and also what awaits you if you get caught. and as far as dont drink and drive, seriously are you the new pope. drinking and driving is perfectly legal, thats why they allow up to .08. which depending on your tolerance and body weight is roughly a beer an hour. you can drink responsibly and still drive responsibly thats why i say no "drunk driving" because above .08 you are legally drunk and will go to jail. which as i said in my previous post is right on, we need those people off the streets. but i have always been one to exercise my rights so when i meet the guys at the bar i either drink my beer an hour or plan on calling a cab. either way both are RESPONSIBLE DECISIONS.

bkm
03-09-2013, 08:38 AM
I'll just correct a few things and then you can carry on. First I don't scold people so thanks for the advise, second if there is a medical emergency and I stop a vehicle, they get an ambulance, no if, and's, or but's, that is non negotiable. I'm not risking my carrier and everything I've worked for because I let someone drive recklessly and they happened to run a stoplight and killed a family of four. Don't put an officer in that position and call an ambulance in the first place.

Lastly it is illegal to drive with a bac under .08. Its called driving while intoxicated and is a seperate charge from excessive B.A.C.. Yes you might not be guilty of driving with an excessive bac (.08 or over), but you are still under the influence of a drug. What happens if you get some little 85 lbs girl who has never really drank in her life and she has a couple of beers and is visably drunk and impared, but her bac is under .08? Does she get a free pass? Nope. Same with narcotics, there isn't some majic number to measure them with, they are in your system and if found with a blood or urine test you are driving while intoxicated.

Yes I've worked with plenty of douchebags in my career and can relate to the public's perception of certian officers.

well from my understanding of the law in Illinois. if you pass the field tests and submit to breathalizer and are under .08 you are good. yes i have heard of the charge you speak of but it is mainly reserved for those idiots being beligerent to the officer or as you say visably drunk. but from what i understand its not often a charge that sticks in court and is really just there to give the officer the opporotunity to get an idiot off the street. may be different by you or maybe things have changed but having a buddys dad being a lawyer i have asked plenty of questions. it just comes down to keep your s#!t together and don't be a d!(k to cop right.

and for an 85lb girl its like half a beer an hour. ill have to find my little card. lol

please, don get off this thread. i know you have to be careful about what you say cause this is a public forum but you are doing a good service here addressing the concerns of citizens.

and i get your ambulance point because of the liability it puts you in, but it takes too long for those things, so i appreciate your honesty and if im ever in that situation i know not to stop till i reach hospital. i dont ever want to be in trouble with law again like when i was younger but family is more important, even if they slap you with felony evading

No matter what profession there is, there are good ones and bad ones. I retired from teaching after 30 years and I saw bad ones and good ones. That is just the way things are unfortunately. In society today there seems to be so little respect for anybody or anything. The attitude of "I will do what I want" seems to be the norm and the h$#@ with you if you don't like it.

Really this is some quality posting. Every now and then we need JACKAZZ (A) to draw out JACKAZZ (B&C) so we can keep track of who to use the ignore button with on here.
@Trike Savior
Advise to hit and run from an accident scene? That is about as smart as telling someone to use the cherry end of a cigarette to check the gas tank level on the trike in the dark.
Bragging about getting away from, or running from illegal activities on this FORUM is something that was never tolerated as far as the rules are concerned. The fact that this has gone for 3 pages without any moderation, with only one reported post,(Thank you and sorry for the delay) actually concerns me as to the type of people we have frequenting these forums these days. This aint's (DA'facebook peeps/bizzes). Quit using this site like this. Post some valuable content instead of your stupid rant/status updates.
So now that I am awake and feel partially dumber for reading this crap I guess I will be the ashole mod to do something about it.
